Fat extraction is performed by liposuction. Fat processing involves decanting and centrifugation. The final step is the process of fat injection back into the buttocks. The procedure is designed to fill the upper quadrant of your buttocks so that the butt appears lifted and perky. The resulting effect is that your profile appears more attractive and sensuous.
Anything under $2,000 MAY be safe, but you may not necessarily get the best results. I would not choose to undergo a BBL based on price, but instead base my decision on the experience and skill of your surgeon. Choosing surgeon for this procedure because of a low price may result in surgical revisions, which can end up costing much more overall. Please seek out a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon with an excellent reputation .  Good luck in your search!
Temporary side effects are to be expected after any type of surgery, including butt lift procedures. Communicating about your allergies, concerns, and medical conditions with your plastic surgeon before your butt lift can help you reduce your risks and remain comfortable. For most butt lift patients, these temporary side effects are worth the results of the procedure.
During the first week, you should plan to take time off of work and have a friend or family member care for you. You can shower, removing your compression garment and gently washing your buttocks, in about two days. You should come into your plastic surgeon's office within the first week of recovery so that he or she can examine your buttocks and remove your drains, if they are no longer collecting much fluid. Sutures may be removed within ten days of your procedure, depending on your healing. You may not drink alcohol, smoke, or take medications like aspirin. Many patients return to work after the first week, but you may need someone to help you care for your house and children for two weeks. Plastic surgeons typically recommend taking short walks around your home during this time period to decrease swelling and keep your blood moving properly. Some plastic surgeons even recommend having regular massages to improve your circulation and help you recover more quickly from butt lift surgery. Depending on your condition and your customized procedure, you may be able to travel after the first week.

2. Facility Fee.  The building where you have the surgery (Surgery Center or Hospital) has associated costs.  You want to make sure the center is appropriately accredited (e.g. AAAASF for surgery centers).  The facility maintains all of the instruments, supplies, and equipment used during the operation.  This also covers the costs of the nurses, technicians, and other personnel that take care of you before and after surgery.  The facility fee alone should cost more than $2,000.
The BBL procedure can be performed under IV Sedation or General Anesthesia. However, I believe that IV sedation is a better choice for patients undergoing a Brazilian butt lift. This anesthesia nearly eliminates the pulmonary risks that are associated with General Anesthesia. Besides that, patients wake up much sooner than they do with General Anesthesia, and experience very little nausea. To learn all about why I prefer the use of monitored IV-sedation anesthesia instead of General Anesthesia, see my blog post about the types of anesthesia used in cosmetic surgery.
"It’s reasonable for someone in their 20s to consider Botox for treatment and prevention of future wrinkles," says Dr. Usha Rajagopal, a San Francisco plastic surgeon, in a RealSelf Q&A. “The product helps minimize the appearance of the current lines as well as weaken the muscles to prevent the production/worsening of wrinkles in the affected area.”
Unlike going to the gym and contouring your stomach by losing pounds of fat off it, it is not possible to significantly contour your butt. One may be able to make some small changes, but the overall shape of one’s rear end is genetic and cannot be altered to a significant degree—until now. The Brazilian Butt Lift plastic surgery procedure finally allows women to have the big, round, curvy booty that they have always desired. The Brazilian butt lift surgery differs from a similar procedure known as butt implants. Both procedures result in a much better looking behind, but work in completely different ways. Butt implants involve using actual implants inserted in the rear end, similar to breast implants. A Brazilian butt lift, on the other hand, uses one’s own body in a procedure referred to as an autologous fat transfer. One’s own body fat is liposuctioned out from another area, such as the stomach, love handles, thighs, arms, etc. and then reinserted into the buttocks, making bigger, curvier, and more attractive.
Liposuction is a procedure that can be performed either under local or general anesthesia. Local anesthesia allows you to remain conscious during surgery, but the treatment area is numbed so you will not feel any discomfort. This option can cost about $100 or more per hour. General anesthesia is used to completely sedate the patient. If it is administered by a nurse, general anesthesia can cost $300 or more per hour. When it is administered by an anesthesiologist, it can cost $450 or more per hour. Deciding which method of anesthesia to use largely depends on the extent of treatment. If the patient is having a small amount of fat removed, local anesthesia may be sufficient. On the other hand, if the patient is having extensive liposuction performed, or if it is being performed in conjunction with other procedures, general anesthesia will probably be the best option.

Finally, patients that cannot quit smoking, which is a critical necessity that can have an impact on the final outcome, for the pre-op period, as well as the recovery phase, are not considered not good candidates for any cosmetic procedure, including Brazilian butt lift. The same goes for binge drinkers. Now, if a patient insists on undergoing the surgery, despite the doctor's recommendations, then they should expect significantly increased costs if the plastic surgeon is willing to take the risk and operate on that patient.
“Most people price liposuction based on the number of areas being treated, and in general the per-area cost will come down with additional areas,” says Dr. Mathew A. Plant, a Toronto plastic surgeon, in a RealSelf Q&A. “Usually, the first area is more expensive because this price includes the costs of the operating room, equipment, and anesthetic. Once you’re into additional areas, those costs have mostly been covered, and you’re simply adding time, which allows a price drop.”
Some surgeons prefer to give prospective patients an itemized list of all the anticipated costs of liposuction. These separate costs might include the surgical fee (money paid to the surgeon for his services), anesthesiologist’s fee, operating room fee, pre-operative laboratory test fees, charges for post-operative elastic compression garments, and possibly prices for antibiotics and other recommended drugs. Sometimes itemized prices are used when the surgeon cannot control all of the related expenses, such as when the lipo surgery is to be done in a hospital operating room with a hospital anesthesiologist. Itemized lipo prices are also used by surgeons who are in the habit of doing multiple unrelated surgical procedures at the same time that the liposuction is done.
While all plastic surgery patients want to experience beautiful results, your safety should be your first priority. You should not undergo butt lift surgery because you feel forced or pressured to by friends or family members. Enhancing your buttocks should be your personal choice according to your needs, wishes, and comfort. Sculpting fat from various areas of your body, injecting purified cells into your buttocks and thighs, making incisions, repositioning tissue, and suturing involves certain risks and temporary side effects.
When you choose a breast implant, you are choosing a device that will be part of your body for many years. Breast implants are not lifetime devices, but if your implants do not encounter complications, there is no reason for a revision. Your implants could be with you for over 30 years, so you should spend some time weighing the benefits and compromises of each implant type. Pick an implant that you feel comfortable with, but also gives you great results. The IDEAL IMPLANT Structured Breast Implant the lowest rates of rupture and capsule contracture in primary augmentation at 8 years, but still gives women a beautiful, natural look and feel. Silicone gel breast implants give women beautiful results, but at an increased financial strain and emotional toll, Dr. Mahony tells us.

Have excess fat deposits elsewhere in your body that your surgeon can remove with liposuction, purify, and use for fat transfer during your Brazilian butt lift. These deposits should ideally be easily accessible, such as love handles around your hips. Since the fat will need to be purified, you typically need to provide between three and four times the amount of fat that you would like to be transferred. If you lack excess fat deposits, you may need to gain weight before your procedure or consider an alternative.
There is a basic principle that applies to most cash-pay health care procedures: the more reputable the surgeon, the more surgery will likely cost. A surgeon with considerable experience and recognition in the field of body sculpture can understandably command a higher fee. When you add advanced technology used for the benefit of the patients, this can also drive a price higher. Using lasers and radiofrequency in liposuction has been proven to provide even better results, but this equipment is expensive, and requires special training.
PAL uses an up and down, vibrating-like motion of the cannula to acquire greater fat removal. When compared to simple suction-assisted liposuction, PAL requires less energy for the surgeon to operate while also resulting in greater fat removal. It is commonly used for difficult, secondary, scarred areas, and when harvesting large volumes of fat for transfers to other areas.[9]
Now that the donor fat has been collected, it is ready to be processed and purified before reinserted into the buttocks. This is where the plastic surgeon acts as a true artist. The fat will be inserted into many different areas of the buttocks at different depths and different locations. The surgeon will use many small, precise injections into different areas. The surgeon will take each individual patient’s specific instructions into consideration. Some women may need more fat placed on the lower portion of the butt, to create the “bubble butt” look, for example. As the doctor injects the fat, he will use massage techniques and feel around to make sure the fat is evenly distributed and smooth around the entire buttocks. This process takes a while, but the end results are well worth it.
Recently there has been much concern in the media over the safety of the procedure. The Gluteal Fat Grafting Safety Panel has concluded that a BBL can be performed safely when the surgeon performs all fat injections into the subcutaneous layer of the buttock. Fat should never be injected into the gluteal muscles or the fascia, which are structures below the subcutaneous layer. Injections into the muscle increases the risk of Pulmonary Fat Embolism (PFE), a very serious complication.
If, like many others, you have decided to take an aggressive stance against stubborn fat deposits, it is most important to have an intimate understanding of the different factors that can influence the cost of treatment, rather than a hard number used to gauge any estimates you gather. The truth is that liposuction is a highly personalized treatment with many variables, and there are no two identical liposuction procedures. By educating yourself about the way your surgeon's experience, the location of your surgeon's practice, the extent of treatment you require, and other factors influence the cost of this treatment, you can make better choices and increase your chances of achieving long-term satisfaction.
Clinical studies have shown that the average cost per minute of operating room time is around $60. However, the true cost of an operating room depends on the particulars of the operating facility. Some doctors say that they do the Brazilian butt lift surgery in office operating rooms that run at cost, and make the money off the surgery. Others charge less for surgery to make up the difference in the charges of their office operating room while there is a small portion of plastic surgeons that operate in office operating rooms for which they are charged hourly, with no control over the hourly charge.
Some surgeons will quote a single global liposuction cost that includes almost every possible surgery-related expense in one lump sum. Typically a global liposuction price is the sum of the surgical fees, plus the non-surgical fee, plus the anesthesiologist’s fee (if general anesthesia is used). A global liposuction cost is commonly used when the liposuction surgery is done in the surgeon’s office or surgery center. When a prospective patient telephones a surgeon’s office to inquire about the cost of liposuction, be certain to determine if the quote is for a global fee or merely the surgical fee. An office employee who answers the telephone might only give information about the surgeon’s fee and not mention other important items such as the anesthesiologist’s fee, and operating room fee.

I personally think nurse-administered anesthesia is perfectly appropriate in many cases. In fact, a 2014 study by the Chochrane Collaboration research group concluded that it was "not possible to say whether there were any differences in care between medically qualified anaesthetists and nurse anaesthetists." But if the patient is anxious about the procedure, or if the treatment scope is extensive, the extra cost of an anesthesiologist can be well worth the money. What I consider extensive liposuction can easily take up to 4 hours, so it would be reasonable to estimate that anesthesia administered by an anesthesiologist could cost about $2,000 in this scenario.
The cost of a Brazilian Butt lift is roughly $7,800. This price includes everything including surgeon’s fee, anesthesia, medications, compression garment, etc. Of course, as with any cosmetic surgery procedure, your price may vary lot from this estimate. Other factors that will affect the price are how difficult your plastic surgeon anticipates your procedure will be, the amount of fat that needs to be liposuctioned, how experienced the doctor is, and the city where the Brazilian butt lift is performed. However, cosmetic surgery prices are never as important as choosing a quality doctor. It is always worth it to pay more for a doctor with whom you are more comfortable with and you are 100% confident can provide quality results than to choose a less experienced doctor because he/she is cheaper.  Always make researching the doctor and procedure your number one priorities before getting any plastic surgery procedure.
What kind of follow-up care do you provide? Your recovery can significantly impact the success of your butt lift surgery and the appearance of your results. It is important to work with a surgeon who is willing to be there for you through every step of the process. Comprehensive post-operative care should typically include weekly appointments for several weeks and availability for any questions or concerns that arise after your procedure.

A Brazilian butt lift not only provides a smoother, perkier, and more voluminous backside, but it also offers a variety of body contouring benefits. When liposuction is performed on different areas of your body to harvest fat for the butt lift procedure, you can achieve a flatter abdomen, trimmer thighs, and sleeker silhouette. While a Brazilian butt lift is typically more expensive than butt implants, it enables you to achieve your desired results without using any foreign substances. In addition, Dr. Greenberg’s extensive experience and dedication to patient satisfaction makes it a worthwhile investment.
3. Surgeon's Fee.  Plastic surgery is a very specialized skill that requires a minimum of 6 - 8 years of training after medical school, and even longer if further specialization is desired.  Make sure you are seeing a plastic surgeon, as any doctor can call themselves a "cosmetic surgeon."  This operation can be dangerous if not performed by an appropriately trained plastic surgeon.  A BBL typically takes several hours to perform liposuction to improve contour and harvest fat from all over the body (up to 5 liters), filter the fat to purify it, and carefully inject the fat into the buttocks/hips to create the desired shape.  You do not want to have a surgery by someone that is not meticulous and does not spend the appropriate amount of time needed to get a satisfactory result in the interest of saving money.  The skill and experience of the surgeon will often dictate a higher price.
The BBL procedure is a long procedure that requires hours of liposuction to transplant fat to the desired areas. The fees that are included in the overall cost of any surgical procedure include an anesthetist fee, facility fee and then a surgeon’s fee. The facility fee alone would not be covered by $2,000. Cost should never be the only factor you take into consideration for your surgical procedure. I would recommend you research a board-certified plastic surgeon that has experience with performing BBL’s.

In 1977, Fisher and Fischer reviewed 245 cases with the planotome instrument for treating cellulite in the lateral trochanteric (hip-thigh) areas. There was a 4.9 per cent incidence of seromas, despite incision-wound suction catheters and compression dressings; 2.0 per cent of the cases presented pseudo-cyst formation that required removal of the capsule (cyst) through a wider incision (+ 5.0 mm) and the use of the panotome.[14][15]
